AsiaSat3 receiver

Hi!

Can anyone give me some advice: which receiver is the best to receive AsiaSat 3 FTA and scrambled channels?

I'm new to satellite TV. My new installed satellite TV system is a combination of a 2.3 m dish and a Dion DT239 receiver.

I'm having problem to received some of the channels. Sometimes a message:"No or Bad signal pops up when I switch channels and I can't receive few channels such as (Shanxi and Tianjin FTA), but according to the Lynsat Asiasat 3 channels info these FTA channels I can get did exist. Can anyone give me some advice on receiving these channels

I think the LNB you have is a C band, and the channels you said you cannot receive (Shanxi, Tianjin...) are KU band. Notice the frequency number is 5 digits as oppose to C band's 4 digits.

I use a Strong SRT4210 receiver and I can get all the channels (including Analogue) except for the Encrypted channels.

You right, those channel freq is 5 digit number. There's a TVB Xing He channel which is a scrambled channel. I heard some people said I need a receiver have CAM CI slot and card slot in order to receive this channel.

I'm kind a new to this tech, can you tell me what is CAM CI/Iredeto card slot?

I,m sorry to disappoint you, but all Ku services on Asiasat 3s are on a CHINA Beam and are not receivable in Australia, This also goes for the services on Asiasat 2

You can only get the F free to air channels CBAND off asiasat 3...

Xing He is in the Cband beam but encripted with irdeto 2.


The encripted channels need a card from the provider. It's likely this channel is not for ptivate viewing and is sold to a cable company is China Hong Kong or Taiwan...

Now my 2.3m dish is connected to Dion two receiver, according to the technician who help me to install this satellite TV system. When I watch FTA channel, I have to make sure both receiver is set to channels with same volt 13V or 18V in order to receive.

I had tried to receive channels with different volts. One receiver set to receive 13V channel and the other set to 18V channel. One of my receiver is unable to receiver anything at all. A msg pop up said No or bad signal!

Is there anyway to solve this problem? Is this problem cause by the receiver or LNB.

You would require a dual output lnb to enable both boxes to work independantly.

Can you recommend a good dual output LNB to me? Can you explain to me how a dual output LNB function?

I'm new to satellite technology and the technician who help me to install the system didn't tell me much about how he connect all the cables and LNB.

I am like you new to satellite. Dual output LNB is basically two LNBs in one (simple term). It lets you watch program with H and V polorization at the same time on different receivers.

You are not correct Supermega, what the site sponcer has is a duel satellite C-Band LNB, There configered to operate on two satellites.
Where-as a Ku duel LNB, is simply two LNB's in the one case

Can the GURU be wrong? The LNBF can do both polorization on one sat. The item in question is listed below.

It was freash in my mind as I was reading the thread to prepare for my C Band upgrade to dual output soon. Not quite game enough to try as I was told it needed more fine turning then the KU stuff.

Zinwell also make a dual out cband lnbf encased as one unit for viewing one sat......

Dual pol is not the same as dual out.... this zinwell is dual polarization as well as dual out...... two different things altogether


The 15K Zinwell is a single coax out but does both H & V pols

Right on, what I needed. Is there a big different between the 15K and a 13K unit? Worth the extra money? I am not going to be doing ton of scanning but would like good signal to be able to watch what is there.

I am indeed WRONG I had no idea such an animal existed.

O'well such is the price of progress, Is it in fact two independent C-band LNB's, Will it do both horz // Vert, together, both at once, at the same time.
Perhaps if our young friend, does get one, he can do a small test report, while he awaits his return from exile :mad: :mad:

I was looking on the zinwell site but they have removed the twin out dual pol cband lnb as they no longer make it...
