MAXplus HTS 9300+ receiver

I am happy with a recently purchased MAXplus HTS 9300+ embedded 4-way SoftCam receiver, good price from NZ Hyundai agent Ultra Tech.
Excellent menus and editing, can check for any signal just by typing transponder frequency, nicely designed. Hyundai seem to have involvement and there is supposed to be a Strong clone sold in Australia as X-receiver, X-box or similar name. Support with software updates is available.

I was using a pre-owned Phoenix 333 analogue/digital receiver initially, but software was very limiting. Clones of the Phoenix 333 appear to be sold as Echostar AD-2000IP, Praxis Digimaster 9800AD+P, Strong SRT4200, Vortec VS-9700, ProDX 3300A, and original manufactuere I think is Handan, also as Handan KSR-6000AP. Software is available for some of these, but I have never seen Phoenix 333 software support.

Interesting that you have got that impression, Pabrita. Problem is that of an Asian with English as second language, quite approachable on telephone. He is trying to source gear at very low prices, but problem getting factories to accept small orders for less than 50 units at a time. Several NZ receiver dealers using auction site as a "come-on" tempter, an odd way of marketing. His gear is good and very cheap.

I think the thing is with all these clones flooding the market, is software availability....upgradability....
John has said that he has found software for this box..therefore it must have some credibility, if some one is looking after the after sale aspect of the box....

What I can say though, is software released for the original mould, don't always fit the replica....
How many people got burnt some months ago with fake 'E' software, why has a whole series of software been removed from public access in the last day or so???
We all know boxes are available from various places at prices that retailers over here, can't possibly match....but at what ultimate price, when there is little or no support???
A classic example is the powteck.............

Belated reply to Ashdave. Sorry, I had left this thread when it diverted to comments about Chinese clones. I have now confirmed that Hyundai MAXplus HTS9300 is identical to Strong X2, both made by Hyundai in Korea. Perry at mmcusm@optus.net.com.au runs a MAXplus support page at http://geocities.com/yurimax2003/ and imports and sells MAxplus and Hyundai receivers in Australia, probably a saving on postage and taxes if you live in Australia. Jack at Ultrapower Technology in Auckland, New Zealand was selling MAXplus for under $NZ230, also Hyundai receivers. Contact at ultrapower1@hotmail.com if you want good prices, but he can be difficult to deal with. Specifications and screenshots of the MAXplus HTS9300 can be viewed at http://www.maxplus.8k.com but I do not know anything about this dealer. I bought mine for "best bang for my bucks". Topfield TF3000CiPro is a popular Korean receiver with good software support (you can download a manual and brochure at http://www.topfield-australia.com.au ), Comparisons and decisions are difficult, and you only know after your first purchase if you have made the best choice. Good luck.

The Hyundai range of receivers is second to none, They don't get to be voted "Receiver of the Year" twice for nothing. I,ve had a Hyundai 800ci close to 10 years, they preceaded the Humax range of receivers, but never took off, for some strange reason, and software is always available,, check out http://www.hisat.com/
and http://www.tektronic.dk/hyundaisoftware.htm for whats available in software.

With there latest program, you load in your Longitude and Latitude, and it automaticly
talks to the "Stab" mount and finds the satellites. All clever stuff.

I think Sky Satt you may have mis-interpreted what I was saying!!
USALS is Universal SAtellite Location System, and is quite common with most newer boxes. It is a program, not a protocol, and i think was developed for or by STAB and the DiSEqC mob....
It works here on the Fortec and Motek, but I dont use it.
